"Tony and I met in New York City while he was on the road with Pat Martino's Trio. If you ever see Tony or me and have time for a great story, ask us about that night at the Iridium Lounge and Birdland!!! A few years later, once Tony had come off the road with Pat, I invited him to join me on stage at the Savannah Jazz Festival. We became instant friends, and have immensely enjoyed traveling and performing with Tony many times since. One highlight was the very first Philadelphia Hammond Organ Festival at The Clef Club, where we were the featured act. This album was recorded in one day, mostly with only one or two takes, at Tony's studio in Columbus, OH. Our amazing drummer, Jim Rupp, is the quintessential professional musician, and one of the most musically generous people I've ever played with. The record is all straight ahead jazz, and a nod to Jimmy Smith and Wes Montgomery's great Further Adventures of Jimmy and Wes." - Howard Paul
